Where to dive on Curaçao?
Curacao is known for the easy shore dives that can be made all over the island. Diving on Curaçao can be done at almost every beach at a PADI or other certified diving school. You can also find diving schools in other places on the island where you can learn to dive or rent diving equipment. Because the waves are generally very calm, you can easily walk into the water from the beach. Each dive site on Curaçao has its own characteristic charms. Yet one is more popular than the other. 1. Playa Porto Mari / The Valley
The dive site at Playa Porto Mari is also called 'The Valley' named. The Valley consists of a double reef where you can swim in between and around. Playa Porto Mari is known for having a lot of coral and underwater life. There is also a large area to explore. People often dive here twice to see both sides of the reef.
2. Tug Boat Beach
A tugboat that sank 30 years ago is now one of the most famous diving and snorkeling spots on Curaçao. Because the boat has been well preserved, there is a lot of coral on it and there are many fish swimming around it Tugboat Beach guaranteed a unique dive.
3. Playa Kalki / Alice in Wonderland
At Playa Kalki the dive spot is 'Alice in Wonderland'. This name was not given for nothing! The area consists of colorful coral and beautiful fish that make you think you've stepped into 'Wonderland'.
4.Mushroom Forest
The dive site Mushroom Forest can only be reached by boat. The special thing about this dive site is that this is one of the only dive sites on Curaçao where you have to go by boat. The coral has the shape of mushrooms which is special to see.
