pontoon bridge

The Pontjesbrug is located in the center of Willemstad. The Pontjesbrug connects the districts of Punda and Otrobanda. The pontoon bridge is also called the 'Queen Emma Bridge' and compared to the 'Queen Juliana Bridge' opposite, it is a very small bridge. But certainly no less beautiful! Especially in the evenings, the Pontjesbrug is beautiful to look at because of the different colors of lights that provide a lot of atmosphere. Take a nice evening walk or grab one of the terraces that can be found at the Pontjesbrug.
Nice to know: The pontoon bridge opens sideways for boats that have to go from the sea to the harbor and vice versa. It is possible to stand on the bridge when it opens!
UNESCO districts

One of the most photographed places on Curaçao are the UNESCO districts, especially the commercial quay in the Punda district. The commercial quay is located along the Pontjesbrug and the colored buildings provide a cozy atmosphere that will put everyone in a good mood. The other neighborhoods are Pietermaai, Scharloo and Otrobanda.
