Museum Tula
One of the most important stories in Curaçao's history began in one of the most picturesque places on the island, on top of a hill at Playa Kenapa.
A slave named Tula started a courageous revolt against his Dutch masters here on the impressive plantation at Landhuis Kenepa. The slave uprising of 1795 and its brutal suppression by European landowners is the museum's central story.
The exhibition is spread over two floors and tries to show how people lived and worked in these unimaginable times.
