Can I just work in Curaçao?
Yes this is quite easy! You don't have a visa but a "Declaration by operation of law" needed to be able to work or internship in Curaçao, just applying for this is enough to enter the country. You can apply for this online and it costs 615 NAF, the documents required are; Passport, birth certificate and VOG. As a Dutch citizen you may officially 6 months per year stay in Curaçao without deregistering in the Netherlands. Will you stay longer than 6 months? What is the average salary in Curaçao?
The salary in Curaçao is about 70% of what you would earn in the same industry in the Netherlands. So that means that instead of 1000 euros, you will earn 700 euros.
From 1 Jan 2023, a minimum wage of 10.70 guilders has been set from 21 years of age (so roughly divide this by 2 for euro). So with this minimum wage for full-time employment, you would come out roughly at 1850 guilders (about 975 euros). So this is lower than in the Netherlands, but you do get the advantage of always having nice weather and beaches at the weekend!

Can I just work on Curaçao?
No not just like that but it is a lot easier with a Dutch Passport. You have to apply for a Declaration of Legal Right (VRW) from the government and with the proof of this application you enter Curaçao and can start working. You can live and work in Curaçao for a maximum of 6 months in a 12-month period without registering.
