Hiking on Curaçao

To get around on Curaçao, walking is not the most convenient way. There are no official footpaths and cars’s often drive fast. Yet you do have beautiful areas where you can walk on Curaçao. There are a number of nature reserves on the island that can be discovered.
The center of Willemstad consists of the neighborhoods Scharloo, Pietermaai, Punda and Otrobanda. These neighborhoods are on the UNESCO World Heritage List and for good reason! In addition to nice shops and restaurants, beautiful murals can be found in the neighborhoods.
To admire all the murals, there is an art route that is indicated on various signs through the neighborhoods. That way you don't have to miss anything! The trade quay is located on the edge of the Punda district and is perhaps the most photographed spot on Curaçao. The colored houses are beautiful to see.
table mountain
Table Mountain can be found all the way in the east of Curaçao. Table Mountain owes its name to the large flat surface. It is possible to stand on top of Table Mountain! Various tours are offered with which you can also climb the mountain at sunrise or sunset.

The highest mountain on Curaçao is the Christoffelberg. You can climb the mountain and this is definitely worth it! From the top you have a breathtaking view. It's a nice climb to the top but then you have something!
This is a national park that lies along the north coast of Curaçao. The North Coast is known for its rough sea. The sea is so rough that it hits high cliffs. This spectacle can be admired up close! Shete Boka also makes great contributions to protecting turtle nests. There are two walking routes with which you can view the entire park.
Salt flat Jan Thiel
Do you want to spot flamingo’s during your walk? Then the Salt Flats of Jan Thiel is the perfect place! Along the vast plain is a walking path with which you can walk around. The flamingo’s live in the middle of the plain and can therefore be admired from all sides!
